CJC-1295 is a 29-residue synthetic analogue of growth hormone-releasing hormone (GHRH) with a maleimidopropionic acid (MPA) Drug Affinity Complex (DAC) modification at Lys-29 that enables covalent binding to serum albumin, extending its half-life from minutes to approximately 6–8 days in animal models (https://pubchem.ncbi.nlm.nih.gov/compound/91971820). It acts via the GHRH receptor on anterior pituitary somatotrophs to stimulate cAMP production through Gs protein/adenylate cyclase coupling, thereby amplifying pulsatile growth hormone secretion and downstream IGF-1 synthesis (https://pmc.ncbi.nlm.nih.gov/articles/PMC7108996/).
